Hi, Blackout the dog here. I want everyone to know that October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. I know you're thinking about the fall and Halloween and all, but please think about all those deserving doggies in shelters, too.
My owner David adopted me from a rescue organization in Massachusetts. I was found as a puppy, all alone under a truck tire, so I don't even know my mom and dad. I was brought to a shelter and a kind lady fostered me for awhile. It was because of her that I learned to trust people, even though I was pretty scared at first. She couldn't keep me, so I went to a rescue organization. Finally, I was adopted by my current owner.
He has taught me lots of stuff, like how to use my nose to help him with his job. But mostly he taught me what it is like to be really loved. Let me tell you, there is just nothing better than a dog and his human!
So please, think about the joy you could bring to a homeless dog's life. Get on over to your local shelter and find that special someone who'll bring a whole new kind of love to your life. Adopt a shelter dog today.
